Our client is a Greater Toronto Area-based general contractor with over 20 years of experience in institutional, commercial, and industrial projects.

Description de poste

  • Engage in project development activities, including defining and clarifying scope, preconstruction planning, and developing control estimates for delivery.
  • Provide preconstruction services by preparing preliminary budgets, cost plans, and identifying value engineering opportunities.
  • Assess general expenses and contribute to margin and fee determinations.
  • Oversee the preparation and execution of detailed quantity takeoff estimates, highlighting risks and opportunities.
  • Gather information from subcontractors and suppliers while analyzing their requirements.
  • Support the negotiation and awarding of contracts.
  • Assist with project planning and scheduling efforts.

Le candidat idéal

  • Minimum 8+ years of estimating experience
  • Proven ability to prepare detailed cost estimates and preliminary budgets, with a focus on value engineering.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess general expenses, margins, and fees accurately.
  • Experience conducting comprehensive quantity takeoff estimates while identifying risks and opportunities.
  • Excellent communication skills for soliciting information from subcontractors and suppliers and negotiating contracts.
  • A collaborative mindset with the ability to assist in project planning and scheduling.
  • Proficiency in relevant estimating software and tools.
